Having a baby or have a new little one keeping your hands full? Not satisfied with your baby carrier options? Would you like help with getting your exsisting carrier to fit better, and feel more comfortable, or learn what else is out there beyond Babies R Us?
Bring your carrier(s) with you for hands-on help from the instructor, a baby-wearing mom of two. We will help with getting sizing right for any future purchases, direct you where you can go to find JUST what you are looking for, and are available for help after your purchase, if you are having trouble.
Baby-wearing is just that: carrying your baby in some type of baby carrier. We call it "wearing" your baby because the carrier fits on you, hands free, like an article of clothing. Babies who are carried cry less, & sleep better. Parents can have their hands free to do what we need to, keep baby calm, keep baby safe and close, and do not have to carry the heavy carseat into the store. In general, carrying your baby in a carrier keeps baby and mommy happier, without those rubber arms. Babies can be heavy! But with the help of a properly fitting carrier, our children can be carried well into the 3rd year, when needed.
This introduction to Babywearing will cover most of the soft carrier basics: how to use your Pouch, Ring Sling, Mei Tai, and Stretchy Wrap. Feel free to try as many different carriers as you like, or ask for help with the ones you already have! Practice with our demonstration dolls before your own baby if you prefer. You'll be surprised how easy this is, and how comfortable for both you and baby.

We offer a 33 page booklet with information about the different carrier styles, different carrying styles, and general Babywearing information. This book covers spinal stress in certain carriers, Plagiocephaly incidence and how babywearing can help with this, Hip Dysplasia and certain baby carriers, among other things. We also include a buyers guide if you choose to shop online, to help you narrow your choices down to carriers we have tried and feel comfortable reccommending. These books are available for $3, and can be picked up at the class.
I do not work for or under the store owner, and am donating my time to teach these classes. I'm happy to help anyone who needs it, of course, but any donations are certainly welcome!
Please RSVP with Cindi at the above listed website so we have a headcount. Drop-ins always welcome!
Regular classes will be held on each Saturday morning of each month, beginning at 10:30am.
Come early and play, stick around and shop! We hope to see you there!
